EDGE ROBOTICS

About

We help Houston businesses get found — by humans and AI.

Edge Robotics LLC is a small, Houston-based consultancy focused entirely on search and answer-engine visibility for small and medium businesses.

Why we exist

Search broke. We help fix what got lost.

Search is changing faster than at any point in the last twenty years. Google's AI Overviews now answer questions inline, ChatGPT has hundreds of millions of weekly users who treat it as a search engine, and Perplexity is building a real business on AI-cited answers.

Most small businesses don't know any of this is happening. The few that do don't know what to do about it. Meanwhile, the agencies built for the old world of blue-link SEO are slow to adapt.

Edge Robotics exists for the business owner who knows search matters, doesn't have time to become an expert, and wants a partner who treats their budget like it's the partner's own money.

How we work

Four principles, no exceptions.

  • No long-term contracts.

Most engagements are month-to-month after the initial 90-day foundation. If we're not earning our keep, you fire us with 30 days' notice. That's the deal.

  • Plain English, no jargon.

Every report, every recommendation, every email is written so a non-technical business owner can act on it. If you want SEO-speak, you can find it elsewhere.

  • We practice what we sell.

This website is itself an example of the SEO and AEO techniques we use for clients. Inspect the source, run it through Google's Rich Results Test — every claim we make about technique, we apply to our own site first.

  • Houston roots.

We're based here, we know the local market, and we prioritize local clients. That said, our SEO and AEO work is geography-agnostic — we work with US clients outside Texas when the fit is right.

About Steven Shaw

Steven Shaw

Founder

Founder of Edge Robotics. A lifelong tech enthusiast and former small-business owner who moved into AI to help Houston companies get found by search engines and AI assistants alike.

I've had a colorful career. I put together my first PC at fourteen and never lost the itch for technology, even when the road didn't run straight through it. I spent about a decade running my own small business, so I know firsthand what it's like to chase word-of-mouth, sweat a slow month, and wear every hat at once. Years of managing a team and working in customer service taught me the rest: the businesses that win are the ones people actually trust.

About two years ago I went all-in on AI. I worked alongside a startup automating operations for small and mid-sized companies, and I could see the same shift coming for search — customers were starting to ask ChatGPT and Google's AI the questions they used to type into a search bar, and most local businesses had no idea it was happening. That gap is why Edge Robotics exists.

I'll be straight about how the work gets done: I'm not a career programmer, but I've gotten very good at directing today's AI tools to build real, production-grade software — and I keep engineering resources on hand to check the final product. This website is one example. So is RuZe™, the async multiplayer strategy game I designed and shipped. It's the same AI-first approach I'll use to get your business found — I practice exactly what I sell.
